33-34 weeks- Mom and Jordan visit for the shower!

The AMAZING cake from Barbara!! LOVE IT!

Beautiful Centerpieces

So, as quickly as Matt and Bobby left, Mom and Jordan arrived. I just love having family down here!!! I wish everyone lived closer. So this week was the big shower and boy was it amazing! There were so many people there to shower Lola with love. We felt so blessed, as you read in Ryan's blog the other day. Mom took us to Target and bought us a bunch of goodies for when we have guests, like a bigger coffee pot. Apparently my single cup brewer just wasn't cutting it! LOL! We know how the Andersons love their coffee!!! Aunt Jordan just couldn't get enough of my belly. She rubbed it and talked to our little one all weekend. It was so nice having them here to begin bonding with Lola. The shower was on Saturday, the 24th, and the day couldn't have been more perfect! Then centerpieces were amazing, the food, the decorations, the games...everything. We got so many presents we didn't know what to think. We just feel so blessed. I know I keep saying that, but we do! Ryan and I finished our childbirth classes, got the tour of the hospital, and are starting to feel more ready. Now time to get the nursery organized.
This week in the life of the womb...this week the baby looks like she's coated in a layer of cream cheese....GROSS. This is the vernix which is keeping her skin from pruning in the amnionic fluid. The baby is beginning to develop her own immune system instead of relying on antibodies she receives through the placenta. The baby is about 17 3/4 inches, the size of an American Girl doll, and weighs almost 5 pounds (as heavy as a bag of sugar). We've been talking birthing plan this week, and I think we want to try to go natural, as long as I can handle it. Trust me though, as soon as the pain is too much, I'm asking for meds!! :O)
