This week the baby is a little longer than 10 1/2 inches and weighs about 14 ounces. She is about the length of a big banana! This week the baby's growth is slowing down a bit but she is still growing at a "remarkable" pace...whatever that means? Her skin, organs and central nervous system are continuing to develop and mature. Her digestive track is working now and she is getting nutrients from whatever I eat, and she's tasting it too. They say sometimes during this week you will be able to see the baby stick their tongue out on an ultra sound because they don't like what they are tasting. The intestines are beginning to contract and relax. They also say that starting this week I may be able to feel the baby hiccup inside of me! It hasn't happened yet, but we shall see! Ryan felt her kick this week for the first time!! I've been trying to get him to catch her moving around, but he usually gets to my belly too late. Not the other night! He had his hand on my belly and felt her sudden thrust! It was a lot of fun watching his face. We've been reading to her, and playing lullabies at night (compliments of Aunt Dawn and Aunt Georgia!) I'm feeling great and really popping out! Getting dressed is a daily struggle, but it is all worth it!! We just can't wait to hold our baby girl!!
