Week 13- The baby is going "bananas"!!

We got to see our little miracle again this week, and this time we heard the amazing sound of the heart beat. It was the most wonderful sound we've ever heard! The doctor said the heart rate was at 158 beats per minute, so it's really kicking! The baby is now about half of the size of a banana, and boy does that sound like an accurate fruit to compare it to this week, because it was jumping around everywhere in there! It seemed at first like the baby was napping, but after some poking and prodding with the ultra sound "thingy" that baby wouldn't stop moving! I swear at one point it turned to face us and waved at us!! I couldn't believe my eyes!! It's still too soon to find out if our little bundle is a he or a she, but we set the date to find out for January. We got a whole bunch of new pictures from all different angles and she showed us each limb. Technology is so amazing! I can't get the sight of the little jumper out of my head! I'm officially not fitting into my clothes anymore....but no big deal...I just use the rubber band trick around my jean button! It works like a charm! This week in the baby's world, a lot is going on! The head is still pretty large compared to the rest of the body, but that will change soon. The intestines are now moving from the outside of the body to the inside....I know sounds weird, right?! Well...that's what happens! Another big development this week: the baby's vocal chords and larynx are fully developed now, even though I can't hear anything from out here! The baby's tooth sockets are all ready to rock and roll for when the baby teeth start coming through, the nose and chin are becoming more prominent (which we could see on the ultra sound) and the eyes are moving into the front of the face now (as opposed to the sides of the head like before.) So much is happening and so quickly too. We are getting more and more excited each day and can't wait to find out if it's a he or a she next month!
