26 Weeks- English Hothouse Cucumber anyone?

So, while I've never even heard of one of these things, this week our little Lola is the height of an English hothouse cucumber. (I don't even know where to get this, so we skipped the object!) She is measuring about 14 inches long, and weighs roughly 1 2/3 pounds. I also read on another page that she is the same length as a burp cloth, which puts it into perspective a little better. I've had a "WOW I FEEL HUGE" kind of week this week! I'm more out of breath now and am starting to feel my insides being squished. She is moving around like crazy, and we are starting to see elbows and knees pop out frequently. She also still LOVES to kick my bladder, as I am going to the restroom about every 20 minutes now. My favorite news this week is that she is now responding to light, and they say that if you shine a flashlight on my belly, she can see the light and will turn her head to follow it. How fun is that! (No, not to tease her like a cat with that red dot light!) They also say that the network of nerves in her ears are further developed and she is better able to distinguish the difference from one voice to the other. Air sacks are developing in her little lungs this week as well which means that she might actually be able to take a breath at the end of this week when I breathe deep. The air sacks, (called alveoli) will actually be developing inside her lungs for the next 9 years. The retina is also completely developed at the end of this week. Her eyes are still closed, but they are finished developing, and she may now blink when she hears a loud noise. So much is happening every week! It's so crazy to think of all of this going on inside of me.
Ryan and I went to Home Depot this week and started looking at paint colors. We are thinking of doing a peachy pink color on the walls, one darker than the rest. It would match the bedding nicely. We are both feeling good and are starting to feel like we need to get some things going! We'll be in the third trimester before we know it, and in 14 weeks from now, we'll be holding our little angel!
